other music that i have been obsessed with includes (still!) art brut, wolf parade (whose full length was just released at the end of september) and a renewed love of blur. m.i.a., peaches, and explogasm provide my raunchy dance driven soundtrack and i can't help but fall in love with the books, which i recently acquired. rogue wave, the concretes, broken social scene, stars, calla, and black rebel motorcycle club are also getting my toe tapping, and i have a newfound love of fiona apple. if you dont have the arcade fire ep, go buy it because some of the best songs ever written are on it. team love is contemplating re-releasing the out-of-print park ave cd so i will let you know when it is out. if you enjoy tilly and the wall, bright eyes, the faint and saddle creek in general, this is an album you have to own. bright eyes is releasing a live album, and the tillies are in the studio. there is also a benefit cd by the saddle creek kids that hits stores soon, if not now. if you're into punk, i just saw a great punk band play at amoeba called the briefs. my friend is their publicist and has been working 24/7 on their release. other shows i have seen recently: a coworker has a band called oh no not stereo which are quite fun. agent sparks, the harlem shakes, and dirty little secret all put on a good show, which i saw at a tiny venue called the silverlake lounge. i saw EXPLOGASM at the alterknit at the knitting factory and i love love love love love love them. inappropriate politically incorrect sexually based songs are their forte and i can't help but relish in it. i'm going to see the go! team at jimmy kimmel this week and i cannot wait! last night i saw big japan/after hours and after hours at cinespace. after hours was alright, in a strokes/nyc band kind of way, but big japan left something to be desired bar their drummer, the yummy adam brody. bright eyes is this saturday, appleseed cast/love as laughter is sunday, and art brut is only a month away!
she exhausts me. i confess, i might have been in a manic episode when i wrote that post back in 2005.
